For the past five days I have been suffering from malaria. Okay maybe not. But it sure as hell felt like malaria. The positive side of being sick is that I lost 4 pounds in one weekend. That's probably from all the not eating and feeling like crap but I'll take it. I did drag my bruised and battered body out of the house to celebrate Memorial Day at Susan and Gary's. They are always such good hosts, the Sangria and hamburgers flowed and a good time was had by all.
As a result of being sick, not a lot was accomplished this weekend. Branching Out was barely touched because in my weakness and time of need I turn to socks. Socks are like my security blanket. I can knit them with my eyes closed and they are very comforting. I've decided to always keep plenty of sock yarn in the stash in case I ever need to go to my happy place. Mmmm socks. Too bad I barely wear socks because I live in Texas.
While I was avoiding doing work yesterday (blame it on the malaria) I discovered Hill Country Yarns,"a new line of hand dyed yarns inspired by the Texas Hill Country." How fun is that? They have colorways such as "Hook 'em Horns" and "Blubonnet" that may be invading my sock yarn stash in the near future.

hope you feel better! being sick is no fun at all :(
